N Brown chairman Andrew Higginson has announced that he will step down from his role at the plus-size fashion retailer.
After almost five years at the company, which owns JD Williams, Jacamo, Figleaves and Simply Be, Higginson has decided to pursue new opportunities in private equity.
N Brown said Higginson will remain as chairman during the search for his replacement.
Chief executive Angela Spindler said: “I would like to thank Andy for his support and advice since my appointment as CEO almost four years ago.
“Andy has led the group during a period of significant transformation and his dedication and insight have made a significant contribution to this process.”
Higginson is also chairman of Morrisons Supermarkets Plc, and a non-executive director of Woolworths Za (South Africa), McCurrach Ltd, and the Rugby Football Union.
