Marks and Spencer (M&S) staff tied over 3,000 bras stra-to-strap along the two mile length of the Humber Bridge last weekend.
The Bras Across the Humber stunt was in aid of Break Through Breast Cancer and was the brainchild of M&S sales assistant Sharon Blagdon, from Whitefriargate, Hull.
Over 40 volunteers from M&S stores in Hull, the East Riding and Grimsby spent over two hours decking out the railings on both sides of the bridge, from the north to the south bank.
Blagdon said: "It’s just a fun way of raising money for a charity we’ve been supporting for ten years. We got nearly 3,500 bras from customers in Hull, Beverley, Anlaby and Grimsby and they also gave cash in store.”
She added: “It did look quite bizarre but it was definitely eye-catching. We have some of our girls at work who have had cancer and some of whom have lost relatives, so this is a cause that is close to most people’s hearts."
