Moda Lingerie and Swimwear has opened its doors to buyers and the press at NEC Birmingham.
The show kicked off on Sunday and will run until tomorrow evening, with more than 260 of the industry’s biggest names in attendence.
Affinitas, After Eden, Curvy Kate and Nicky Nobel, along with Empreinte, South Beach, Gossard, Helen Lingerie, Pill and Rosy have chosen Moda as an exclusive platform in the UK to showcase their products this season.
International swimwear brand, Seafolly, will be setting the season’s trends at Moda, while French brand Chantelle will launch new collections featuring vibrant colours and soft tones.
Retailers who place an order at the Chantelle stand will receive free carrier bags, a Chantelle gift and a chance to win a trip to Paris for two.
Hailing from across the Atlantic, US design house Michael Kors will introduce its younger swimwear collection, MICHAEL Michael Kors, while DKNY will bring its intimates collections from NYC to the NEC.
UK lingerie and sports bra specialist Berlei, which recently announced 2015 Wimbledon champion Serena Williams as its new brand ambassador, will serve up a range of bras that are designed to minimise bounce during exercise.
Adding to the home-grown dimension of the show, domestic label Smith & Downes will debut its collection in the Moda Boutique, made from fabrics supplied by British heritage brand Liberty.
Newcomers to Moda Boutique include Maison Close, Sparkle Mode and Clover Lewis Swimwear, a post-surgery brand offering style and functionality for women following breast cancer.
A highlight of the exhibition, INVISTA will take centre-stage with its trend-led installation, featuring product innovation in the intimates and swimwear sectors.
Supporting names of the future and encouraging young talent, Moda will present an installation from Contour Fashion students of DeMontfort University, promoting student talent to the retail trade audience.
Moda’s daily catwalk shows will once again present the latest trends, whilst the seminar programme receives a further boost this season with the return of the BE2B Hub, which will offer all visitors a one-stop-shop for all their business needs.
This season’s seminar programme includes a series of talks from the Fashion Association of Britain, which will disseminate practical advice from their members, preferred providers and business coaches. The FAB team will also offer one-to-one retail clinics from its stand in the BE2B Hub.
Moda event director Penny Robinson said: “As the sector’s national show we are delighted to be able to offer even more variety this coming season.
“The August edition is set to showcase an impressive line-up of trend-focussed swimwear alongside intimate apparel from both UK and international brands alike. We are listening and acting on the feedback of our visitors all the time, bringing newcomers on board and implementing inspiring installations, ensuring Moda remains a staple on the trade show calendar.”
