A senior employee of lingerie tycoon Michelle Mone walked out after discovering his office had been bugged, an employment tribunal heard on Sunday.
Scott Kilday said he was “horrified” after he found the listening device hidden between artificial flowers in his office at MJM International.
It came after he was asked to resign his post as operations director at the company, which was made famous for its Ultimo brand, reports the Scotsman.
The employee made the accusations on the first day of his employment tribunal in which is he claiming unfair dismissal against MJM.
Kilday said at the tribunal in Glasgow: “It all became a bit disjointed and basically there came a time Michelle and Michael could not sit in the room together.”
“With both being majority shareholders it was very difficult to get any decision made, which ultimately was the fall of the business.”
The tribunal heard that Kilday was asked to resign at around the same time that Mone’s husband Michael left the company before MJM partnered with MAS Holdings.
The hearing continues.
