Austria’s biggest lingerie atelier is poised to open in Vienna this year.
The 600m2 space, set to launch at Steffl department store, will stock luxury garments from brands including Chantal Thomass, La Perla, Wolford, Stella McCartnery, Hanro, Princesse Tam Tam and Heidi Klum Intimates.
London-based design consultancy 20.20 was tasked to design the department, set to be the biggest and most desirable intimate apparel destination in Austria.
The space, which will occupy Wolfgang Mozart’s former workroom, takes cues from Vienna’s rich heritage and the city’s passion for creativity, art, music, architecture, and café culture.
A statement from Steffl’s founder likened the store to "a vertical city of the most desirable boutiques," inspiring the name ‘Lingerie Atelier’.
On entering, guests will discover an edit of everyday, premium, and exclusive brands presented in a luxurious, lifestyle-led environment.
Viennese references are present throughout the space, with St Stephen’s Cathedral (Steffl) and its roof formations featuring prominently.
20.20’s design scheme is a celebration of timeless materials, including handcrafted parquet flooring with modern limed finish and fixtures framed by dark patina metalwork offset by brushed brass.
Matt lacquered and upholstered surfaces in skin nudes and rose tones add softness to the space.
