Mad Men’s Janie Bryant and Maidenform have unveiled a limited edition 90th anniversary capsule collection.
This vintage inspired line was shown for the first time exclusively to celebrities and their stylists at the recent 2012 Oscar awards at Maidenform’s suite; Four Seasons Beverly Hills.
The ‘couture’ designs are made with a stretch, woven satin, from Italian silk mill Boselli, and feature Iluna stretch lace.
Emmy award winner and Mad Men Costume Designer Janie Bryant has been collaborating with Maidenform for nearly two years and has lent her industry and period expertise in touting the legacy of the brand.
Bryant said: “I am so excited to be part of Maidenform and the celebration of their 90th anniversary.
“The collection truly speaks to the heritage and authenticity of the Maidenform brand, with the sexy, glamorous interpretation that I envisioned.”
Maidenform chief marketing officer Lucille DeHart added: “ Janie is an inspiration to us. She is an authority in her field and fundamentally believes in Maidenform’s philosophy and core values of celebrating the female form while building character from the inside out.”
Available April 2012 in select retailers worldwide. Maidenform’s 90th anniversary capsule collection will consist of five key silhouettes including a half-slip, full slip, three quarter bra, wire free bra and a waist nipper.
Colours offered include Black and Silver Starlet, a chic gunmetal grey. Sizes range from 32-36 B, C for bras; small, medium and large for slips and waist nipper.
