Lorna Drew Lingerie has today launched a worldwide search for a real-life mastectomy model to front its AW16 campaign.
The British brand is inviting all women – of all ages, shapes and sizes – who have undergone breast surgery due to breast cancer to enter its Everyday Superwoman competition.
Lorna Drew will whittle down the entries to five finalists before a judging panel decides on the winner.
The judges are Sarah Blackman, editor of Lingerie Insight; Lisa Curtis, head of services at Look Good Feel Better, a worldwide cancer charity providing practical support for women struggling with the side effects of cancer treatment; Hannah Sanders, CEO of Morello, a London-based modelling agency; and Vogue fashion photographer Rene August.
Lorna Drew managing director Lorna Murchie said: “Our aim is to show how Lorna Drew lingerie will not only fit and feel perfect on a variety of women of all shapes and sizes, prosthetics and reconstructions, but it will look beautiful too."
The winner will be photographed by Rene August for Lorna Drew’s AW16 brochure, receive a year’s modelling contract with Morello and win a year’s supply of Lorna Drew Mastectomy Lingerie.
Four other finalists will also take part in the shoot and receive a mastectomy lingerie set of their choice.
Entries are now open at lornadrew.com until September 15 2015. The winner will be announced on October 12.
