Online retailer Lingerieplease.co.uk has added videos of models wearing its lingerie and swimwear in an effort to help customers judge how they will look in different styles.
Several models with different body types are featured doing a short walk and twirl in the videos – a service that Lingerieplease.co.uk has called its virtual dressing room.
The technology and videos were originally developed by Knickerpicker, a company that Justsayplease Ltd., the parent company of Lingerieplease and Tightsplease, acquired in 2011.
Nicola Pringle, marketing manager for Lingerieplease, described how the Knickerpicker concept was a perfect fit for the company’s transactional web sites. “After working with Knickerpicker on this project we decided to add the technology to the rest of our product range when we acquired the software. Due to customers being able to see the fit of the underwear on real life models from all angles, we are sure this will improve overall conversion,” she added.
The addition of the virtual dressing room has been announced in the same week that Lingerieplease was revealed as a Finalist in the Digital Retailer of the Year category of the UK Lingerie Awards. The winners will be revealed in September.
