The intimate apparel designs that will be presented at this year’s graduate fashion show hosted by De Montfort University have been chosen by an industry panel.
Course leader Gillian Proctor was joined by six judges in Leicester yesterday in selecting 20 collections to be shown on the catwalk next month.
The panel included Lingerie Insight editor Sarah Blackman, Courtaulds creative director Mandy Ferrand, Triumph International product manager Monica Harrington, APM Agency director and founder of The Lingerie Edit David Finlayson, and freelance consultant Chris Spellar.
Thirty-two final-year students presented their work on live models, before the most innovative and creative designs were selected for the show.
The chosen designs will be revealed in the June issue of Lingerie Insight, out next month.
The 2015 graduate fashion show and exhibition will be held on June 3 at the Freemasons’ Hall in London’s Covent Garden.
For the last two years, the show has taken place during Graduate Fashion Week at The Truman Brewery in East London.
“We are delighted to return to the place where we launched our London event,” said Gillian Proctor, programme course leader at De Montfort University. “It means that we will have extra space to show the students’ full collections, plus technical files and sketches in an exhibition.”
Two catwalk shows will take place during the event – one in the afternoon and one in the evening – followed by a VIP drinks reception.
