A lingerie entrepreneur who rose to fame last year by inventing what is claimed to be the world’s first magnetic suspender belt is looking for investors to join her business.
Thurrock-based Ella Vine hopes to attract investors or partners to her eponymous lingerie brand as she bids to take the company to the next level.
Vine has set out to ‘disrupt’ the lingerie industry with products that include poppy suspenders and poppy stockings that replace traditional fastening.
It also offers bras with sewn-in semi-precious healing stones, like rose quartz and tiger’s eye.
Vine, a former plus-size model who has begun selling her products through independent lingerie shops in Essex, told local news site Your Thurrock that she is looking for equity investors and partnerships to “elevate the brand to a new level”.
Vine worked in partnership with the Essex Innovation Programme last year to develop the NeoMagTriple technology behind her magnetic suspender belt.
“I developed a suspender belt which attaches to the stockings via special magnetic clip. It is easy, fast, safe and comfortable and takes just one second – just clip and go,” she said at the time.
Jack Levene, former head of lingerie at Marks & Spencer, endorsed the product. He said: “The magnetic fastening on this suspender belt will be a great boon to both the user and to their partners. This is the first innovation in years, it speeds up production and makes it far easier for the user when attaching or removing from stockings.”
