Limited Brands has reported a 7% rise in comparable store sales for the five weeks ending June 30th.
Much of the growth was driven by its Victoria’s Secret stores, which recorded a solid 11% improvement on the previous year.
On a net sales basis, Limited Brands booked $1.077 billion (£695m) in revenues, which was down slightly on the $1.080 billion (£697m) it made in the corresponding period the year before.
The company said that net sales for the 22 weeks to the end of June, meanwhile, reached $3.9 billion (£2.51 billion) compared to $4 billion (£2.58m) the previous year.
It noted that June 2011 and 2011 year-to-date sales included $80m (£52m) and $363m (£234m) attributable to the third party apparel sourcing business, which it sold last November.
Limited Brands, through Victoria’s Secret, Pink, Bath & Body Works, La Senza and Henri Bendel, operates 2,615 specialty stores in the US and its brands are sold in more than 700 company-operated and franchised additional locations worldwide.
