La Perla has completed one of the busiest periods of retail expansion in its history, opening no fewer than 10 lingerie boutiques inside the last four months.
The brand has embarked on a strategy to ramp up its global footprint over recent weeks, with new stores in Europe, North America and Asia. La Perla now operates more than 150 boutiques worldwide.
The latest openings range from a flagship store on the exclusive Cheongdam Road in Seoul, South Lorea, to another on the Passeig de Gràcia in Barcelona.
It has also opened US boutiques in Houston, Miami and Chicago, extended its presence in China with shops in Beijing and Sanya, and opened a large Italian outlet in Tuscany.
Pick of the bunch, however, has to be the prestigious 600 square metre store in Hong Kong’s Russel Street, at the heart of the city’s shopping district.
Leading Italian architect Robert Baciocchi created the concept for all 10 boutiques, developing an immediately recognisable retail image for the chain consolidation and an expansion plan which represents a cornerstone of La Perla’s current day strategy.
The façade of the stores reflects elements of grand Italian architecture – combining elegant arch design with luxurious blue marble. The internal space is divided into octagonal rooms dedicated to La Perla Women’s and Men’s collections.
The fitting rooms are marked out by panels in polished steel mesh, which is designed to evoke the weave of tulle. Back-light elements are also apparent on the internal steps leading up to the first floor, adding a subtle yet effective touch.
Located on the first floor is two Private Lounges where customers can access exclusive services such as ‘Made to Measure’. To enhance the refined atmosphere in the area, traditional details have been incorporated, such as service bells to call for assistance.
