La Perla has opened a new flagship store in Rome’s Via Bocca di Leone.
The boutique at Via Bocca di Leone 28, which is located in the historic part of the ‘Eternal City’, is a brightly lit space, decorated in neutral hues.
At a cocktail party marking the boutique’s launch last month, three models in ‘perfect Sixties style’ created tableaux vivantes, wearing key items from La Perla’s SS12 Beachwear collection (inspired by the trends of the ’60s).
The party was livened up by the presence of numerous well-known personalities from film and show business, including Alessandro Gassman, Natasha Stefanenko, Anna Safroncik, Eleonora Giorgi and Corinne Clery.
A capsule collection has been created exclusively for the flagship store in Rome, including a lingerie set and a shawl that macramé lace with laser cut black tulle. The line is completed by a dramatic silk chiffon and macramé lace evening gown. The gown is also black, with the addition of red, the colour of the heartbeat.
In addition to its new flagship boutique in Rome, La Perla has opened an outlet in Dubai’s Mall of the Emirates.
The new boutique was opened in collaboration with partner Du Marques, with whom La Perla has also established a partnership in its Dubai Mall boutique.
It was designed by Italian architect Gabriele Buratti, winner of the 2010 Wallpaper Design Award and numerous other international prizes.
The space is cadenced by the vertical rise of a number of mirror glass elements, encasing the key fabric of the La Perla world: Leavers lace.
The boutique has a ‘museum’ area in its centre, exhibiting vintage garments and one-of-a-kind items. A gallery rises from the black granite floor, flanked by glass walls woven with lace and columns with display niches.
The rest of the shop is characterised by a ‘sophisticated’ colour palette in which black is set off by the grey carpets, the sand of a number of display fixtures and the ‘burnished gold’ elements on which garments are hung.
La Perla will be opening another La Perla Boutique in Abu Dhabi at the end of 2012.
