British legwear brand Jonathan Aston has unveiled the trend inspirations behind its AW17 collection.
The heritage brand, which heralded from the high streets of the 1960’s, presents its new range of tights and socks under three key themes:
As models graced the runway at the Mulberry A/W17 show in textured, woolly hosiery, it was clear to see legs are in for a cosy treat.
This season, Jonathan Aston is proving fashion can be comfortable with its ‘Urban Knits’.
Key styles include the cable knit Siesta tight, available in black, grey and marl; the Linear tight, which makes a statement with horizontal detailing; the Link tight, featuring decorative side cable to give the illusion of never-ending legs; and the flecked Peace Tight.
Sock options under Urban Knits include the Weave over-the-knee socks in grey; 80s-inspired Snug leg warmers; the Serene Sock, available in pink, grey and oatmeal; and the colourful Twist sock with frill tops.
The After Dark look is all about dressing for late-night parties.
A range of patterned sheers, embellished opaques, and vintage-inspired nets are available under this theme.
Key styles include the Glitz tight inspired by the metallic designs featured on the Christopher Kane AW17 catwalk; the glitter embellished Twilight tight; the shredded opaque Flare tight; and the Micronet fishnets.
In terms of socks that are made to be seen, Jonathan Aston offers the sexy sheer Halo anklet with stripes at the ankle; the Henna anklet inspired by Mehndi and the glitter embellished Dazzle sock.
Jonathan Aston has given school tights a modern update with this theme – think St. Trinian’s meets Parisian chic.
Key styles include the diamond-patterned Blake tight; the monochrome checked Bonny tight inspired by 90s teenage comedy Clueless; and the Teva tights, featuring a criss-cross pattern.
Socks include the Isla sock, featuring gold tops; and the Logan sock, designed with colourful stripes and monochrome gingham detailing.
