Jamu Australia said its drop-shipping service helped generate a high level of interest in the brand at this season’s Moda show, which closed its doors yesterday.
The post-surgery swimwear brand said that when it explained its drop-shipping service to independent retailers it was “music to their ears” in a time of economic uncertainty.
Jamu director and designer Lydia Leong commented: “It is a win-win for both the label and retailer really.”
Drop shipping is a supply chain management technique in which the retailer does not keep goods in stock, but instead transfers customer orders and shipment details to either the manufacturer or a wholesaler, who then ships the goods directly to the customer.
“I have invested in a lot of time and effort in sourcing the ultimate logistics company that can deliver this exciting service to make sure that deliveries are streamlined when a retailer places a drop-ship order,” Leong added.
