Jacqueline Gold launches women in retail campaign

Ann Summers CEO Jacqueline Gold has announced the launch of a new campaign to inspire and promote the careers of successful female retail leaders.

The #BeInspired campaign, founded by business news site Retail Week, aims to highlight key high profile role models in the sector and inspire and engage the female leaders of tomorrow.

Gold, an ambassador for the campaign, spoke about the new initiative at the Retail Week Live 2016 conference in London yesterday.

She said explained that it’s the retail industry’s responsibility to embrace and nurture female talent, and to create leaders of the future.

Gold’s sister Vanessa, the managing director of Ann Summers, is also an ambassador for #BeInspired, as is Paula Nickolds, commercial director at John Lewis, and Suzanne Harlow, group trading director at Debenhams.

Retail Week hopes to highlight the value of female leaders within organisations and involve male leaders leading the charge for gender diversity.
