Curvy Kate has appointed Irene Leahey as sales agent for Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Leahey adds Curvy Kate to a portfolio of intimate apparel brands that has included Maison Lejaby for the past three years. Prior to establishing her own agency in Northern Island, she worked in sales for DB Apparel and as a buyer for 14 years at an independent retailer in Belfast.
Leahey said: “As a size 12, 34F bust, I am myself a curvy girl, so it is great for me to be able to represent a brand which embraces ladies’ curves. It’s also refreshing to be working with such a young and attacking brand that already have a great success rate.”
The lingerie brand, which specialises in D-plus bras, said that the appointment will help it to strengthen relationships with retailers in the region as well as offer more local support.
Curvy Kate head of sales Rachel Jenkins said: "The timing of the appointment is great and we welcome Irene to the Curvy Kate team. The brand has recently expanded its export offering but it’s equally important to look after the local market and maintain our strengthening position in the UK and Ireland.
“Our rapid growth means we have reached a stage where we need additional ground support to ensure we increase customer service and drive sell through, Leahey’s appointment will help us provide support to all our Irish and Northern Irish customers.”
Leahey’s appointment comes off the back of a raft of new hires at Curvy Kate over the past year that it says have been made to "support and facilitate the growing company’s requirements".
