INVISTA, owner of the LYCRA brand, and one of the world’s largest integrated producers of polymers and fibers, has begun the rollout of the next generation of LYCRA SPORT technology.

This technology is scientifically engineered to deliver comfort, fit and support to stretch activewear.

In line with this new development, INVISTA has come up with new, simplified indexes to rate fabric power, comfort and energy on a scale of one to 10.

These indexes are combined to create performance levels tailored to fit the garment’s end use and satisfy the consumer’s need for targeted support.

“Increasingly, athletes and active consumers desire sport-specific garments designed to help optimize their athletic performance but with a high degree of comfort; LYCRA® SPORT technology makes it easier than ever for mills, brands and retailers to meet these specific consumer needs,” explained Huw Williams, INVISTA global segment director, activewear and outdoor.

“Our proprietary indexes help designers to easily describe performance levels that are tailored to fit the garment’s end use and satisfy the wearer’s need for comfort with performance.”

LYCRA SPORT technology can be combined with other LYCRA brand technologies, like LYCRA BLACK technology, which is designed to ensure that black leggings stay black.
