Fabrics giant INVISTA has announced four finalists for the Future Designer Award, which it is sponsoring at this year’s WGSN Global Fashion Awards.
Over 250 design students from across the globe submitted entries with collections that included lingerie, swimwear, womenswear and menswear.
Two UK students made the list of finalists: Charli Cohen from Reigate and Shireeka Devlin from London were selected along with Derek Clarkson from the USA and Esther Kruyer from Netherlands.
The winning student will receive a prize of LYCRA fibre product to use in a forthcoming collection, as well as a consultancy with INVISTA global production and marketing experts worth tens of thousands of dollars.
“The WGSN Global Fashion Awards offers the perfect international platform for INVISTA, owner of the LYCRA brand, to discover and launch new creative talents that will help lead and design the apparel industry,” said Denise Sakuma, INVISTA Apparel global director of brand and communications.
