Intimate Lingerie Asia seeks European exhibitors

Intimate Lingerie Asia (ILA), an intimate apparel industry platform for Asia, is seeking to get in touch with European brands looking to enter into the region.

Making its debut this August, ILA will focusing on all aspects of intimate apparel and related products.

The show, a spin off of the successful Asia Adult Expo and ILA, is billed as the first International erotic lingerie trade show in Asia.

The idea for the event was inspired by the scope of lingerie at Asia Adult Expo growing from 15.8 percent of all exhibitors in 2008 to over 35 percent of all exhibitors at the show.

A show representative said: “90 percent of trade visitors showed interests in lingerie, which resulted in a very good response for our lingerie exhibitors in the show… We figure the market would like to meet a more diverse range of lingerie products, and therefore opened a section of ILA, which would be specializing in different types of stylish lingerie.”

ILA aims to provide a one-stop venue for industry players in the area to expand their business scope and network, and will feature private brands, suppliers and manufacturers, as well as designers for businesses with different areas of sourcing needs.

The organisation has been in communication with the area’s intimate businesses for a number of years and is reportedly continuously receiving feedbacks about the demand for more lingerie brands and designs with a greater diversity of style.

Recently, ILA claims, retail stores presenting brands from the European region are gaining market shares and further growth is expected for these smaller stores.

The show’s organisers, who work with both bigger retailer chains and regional distribution networks scattered throughout the continent, are interested in speaking with brands from the UK who are looking for opportunities to expand their market into the Asian region.

Opportunities, according to ILA, are excellent for brands that want to build up their distribution in Asia without dealing with ‘giant’ chain stores with high barriers of entry.

The show will take place on August 17 to 19 at The Cotai Strip Convention and Exhibition Centre in The Venetian Macao.
