Interfilière Paris will shine a spotlight on sportswear fabrics when it opens its doors next month.
Three spaces will provide an overview of sportswear and activewear trends from a number of different creative and technical perspectives, event organisers have announced today.
The first is a ‘Sport Mode’ exhibition created in collaboration with Interfilière Paris and the Musée National du Sport.
Students from the ECSCP design school in Paris were set the challenge of creating a Haute Couture wardrobe inspired by the world of sport.
Interfilière has also teamed up with the Fédération de la Maille et de la Lingerie to highlight technical and innovative textiles and accessories in the medical and sports underwear domain, focusing on comfort, functional properties and performance.
This section of the show, named Mouv’Innovation, will also place current R&D in the spotlight, showcasing special sweat-wicking fibres, titanium and shape-memory underwires, smart fabrics and 3D technology for shock-absorption and lightness.
Visitors will also discover a 3D trend book created by a team of 10 international stylists from the beach/leisure market.
The space will offer a wide overview of SS17 beachwear trends with a focus on technical fabrics developed with anti-UV, thermal, chlorine-resistant, abrasion-resistant and antibacterial properties.
A catwalk show of prototypes created by Interfilière Paris exhibitors will be held each day.
Also during the show, two conferences will discuss high-performance fabrics. Attractive and High-Performance Activewear will be held on July 5 at 3pm, while Innovative Lingerie: Sports & Medical Focus will be held on July 6 at 11am.
