Interfilière swamped by international clients as show declared a success

Interfilière Paris saw a 14% uplift in international visitors this season, trade show organisers have announced.

Fewer visitors attended from the UK and France than last year, but the show still saw giant brands including Next, Agent Provocateur and John Lewis step through the doors.

The majority of visitors came from North America, Japan, Germany, Ukraine and Russia.

The theme of the show was ultra-lightness, which inspired a well-received artistic installation, creating a gallery atmosphere in The Exception space. Visitors viewed works by artists such as Julien Fournié, Ying Gao, Atelier Flory Brisset, La Soie Serycine.

The General Forum held the ‘Whisperings’ exhibition, featuring a host of technical and aesthetic innovations.

The programme included young English designer, Jessica Haughton, who was discovered thanks to her innovative 3D printed lingerie collection made of silicone; as well as prototypes from five European embroidery companies  – Bischoff Textil, Hämmerle & Vogel, Inter-Spitzen, Junior SRL by Adèle Zibetti and Soulis Kuehnis – and the launch of a new fibre: NaiaTM from Eastman.

2017 got the Interfilière season off to a strong start with a 7% rise in both product range and visitor numbers. Seven new exhibitors (Eastman, Ideal L pack, Jy Textile, Lemahieu, MCM Milano Pizzi & Ricami, Tai hing and Tintex Textiles) joined the Interfiliere community.
