An independent lingerie retailer based in Kent will relocate from Ashford to the coastal market town of Hythe next month.
Dawn Luck, owner of Elegance Lingerie, opened her store in Ashford town centre in 2013.
But due to falling footfall levels and rising business rates, she was forced to close the shop, and served her final customers in the town yesterday.
“We cannot afford the overheads any longer, but hey ho, Elegance will survive,” she said in a Facebook post.
Addressing her loyal customers, she said: “I would like to thank all of you for continued support over the last four years. Hopefully some of you will come and find us in Hythe!”
Elegance Lingerie, which stocks lingerie by Charnos, Fantasie, Lepel, Triumph, Sloggi, Amoena and Royce, will re-open at 141 High Street in Hythe on July 14.
