Independent lingerie boutique Swanky Pants will move from its current location in Harrogate to a busy shopping destination in Leeds after Christmas.
Owner Sandra Morgan will close her Harrogate store on Christmas Eve and reopen the business in Horsforth in the New Year.
She made the decision to relocate after growing tired of the lack of passing trade where she is based on Kings Road.
“In Harrogate I am a destination store and being located outside the town centre means that people have to know that I’m there,” Morgan explained.
“I have met some great friends, of which some are customers, I am very sorry to be leaving. It wasn’t an easy decision, but I am confident that my Harrogate customers will travel to Horsforth to visit me and the shop.”
Swanky Pants’ new destination on New Road Side, Horsforth is packed with restaurants, wine bars, independent delis and clothes shops.
“The footfall is much better and the passing traffic is none stop,” Morgan continued.
Ahead of the grand opening on January 4, Swanky Pants will host a ‘12 Days of Christmas’ pop-up shop in Horsforth on December 12-24.
It will also hold a men’s shopping event in the new store on December 14.
Swanky Pants was established in Harrogate 2005. Morgan joined the business as manager in January 2013, before taking full ownership of the business in April 2015.
Morgan previously worked in Harvey Nichols in Leeds, where she was a manager in perfumery and accessories department for eight years.
“Coming from a department store to a small independent shop was quite scary, but I absolutely loved the idea of spending time with customers and really getting to know them,” she said.
