Hollywood’s go-to underwear label lands in the UK

An American underwear brand popular with A-list celebrities from Rihanna to Reece Witherspoon is set to make a name for itself in the UK and Ireland after partnering with and award-winning distributor.

Commando, which specialises in seamless underwear and nightwear, hopes to expand its presence in these markets after launching at Net-a-Porter and Brown Thomas last year.

The brand has chosen family-run business Intimates Lingerie to distribute its products in the UK and Ireland and build on this success.

Commenting on partnering with Commando, Intimates Lingerie co-founder Sarah Charlesworth said: “Intimates are really positive and excited about the launch of such a fashion driven , forward thinking solutions brand from the USA.

“With our experience in this field, we are committed to making Commando a brand leader in this market and bringing a fashion edge to solution driven product.”

Commando was established in New York by Kerry O’Brien, a former public relations officer, in 2003.

Now a member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America and a patent-holding inventor, O’Brien is known for her innovative and fashion-conscious designs.

Her underwear designs have been worn by celebrities including Julianne Moore, Jennifer Lopez and Rihanna, who famously paired the brand’s seamless thong under a sheer, crystal dress on the red carpet in 2014.

The brand also offers a range of soft-cup bralettes made using European microfiber and ethereal lace, smoothing shapewear and satin nightwear.
