Fashion journalist Hilary Alexander has been announced as Ambassador for Fast Fashion London’s Young Designer Competition.
Fast Fashion London, the international trade exhibition show, is launching its inaugural Young Designer Competition this month, offering five aspiring designers the chance to exhibit their graduate collection at Fast Fashion London’s exhibition at London Olympia 23-24 October.
Hilary Alexander has been Fashion Director of The Daily Telegraph for 26 years and has twice been crowned British Fashion Journalist of the Year.
Fast Fashion London’s Alexandra Demirdjian said: “With a passion for aspiring fashion and designers, Hilary was the perfect choice for the Young Designer Competition and we are thrilled to have her on board.”
Remarking on her latest role, Alexander added: “Fashion graduates are one of our most valuable talents and we must acknowledge and support young designers in these times. I’m delighted to be presiding over the judging panel for the Young Designer Competition and am looking forward to seeing the entries.”
The Competition entries will be assessed and shortlisted to five finalists, who will then exhibit at Fast Fashion London and be judged by a panel of industry experts, including Competition Ambassador Hilary Alexander, key retailers and media.
The winner will be announced at Fast Fashion London on 24 October.
This year’s exhibition is taking place on 23-24 October 2012 at the Olympia National Hall. The show gathers the entire textile supply chain with fabrics, manufacturing and collections, targeting high street chains and other main fashion retailers as visitors.
The aim of the event is to provide UK fashion retailers with an introduction to Euro-Mediterranean suppliers. Fast Fashion London will also present the season’s key colours and the best private label collections.
