Helena Christensen designs first lingerie range

Supermodel Helena Christensen has designed her first ever lingerie collection, comprising of three ranges, for Triumph.

‘Helena Christensen for Triumph,’ which launches in stores and online for SS13, sits within Triumph ‘The Luxury Collection.’

It is inspired by 1940s femme fatale allure, through to 1970s bohemian elements and 1980s bondage touches.

Christensen says: “I am delighted to create my own lingerie line together with Triumph. After three seasons with Triumph Essence, it was a real pleasure to design and create such great pieces of my own.

“I have put a lot of personal experience into the collection, selected all the fabrics and decided on all colours – which range from juicy orange to citrus yellow, aqua and a powdery retro mauve-pink. I think this first collection is a reflection on what I have experienced and loved from my career and personal life”

Christensen acted as both creative director and model for the photoshoot, which took place at her beach house close to Copenhagen, Denmark.

The range is divided into groups: ‘Dahlia by Helena,’ ‘Poetica by Helena’ and ‘Ballerina by Helena.’

Mingling romanticism with femme fatale mystique, the ‘Dahlia by Helena’ is designed to stand out with its black elastic tape and straps that create strong colour contrasts and are used to great effect along the neckline and waist. The triangle bra features soft pink tulle covered in black lace. The push-up bra creates impressive cleavage, while the highwaist panty has a dramatic ‘Cleopatra’ v-belt effect.

‘Poetica by Helena’ features Dentelle de Calais Leavers lace adorned with crystals by CRISTALLIZEDTM—Swarovski Elements. The ‘dreamy’ styles feature coordinated colours and patterns for creative mixing and matching. Bondage-inspired criss-crossing bands accentuate cleavage. The key piece is a loose-fitting camisole in an art-nouveau-inspired print, with citrus yellow straps and a v-shaped lace panel.

The third series, ‘Ballerina by Helena’, seeks to combine 70s glamour with several feminine touches. A stretch fabric features a retro oval printed-glitter pattern. The wired bra has adjustable tulle tape in the centre, providing two different wearing options: softly gathered cups or a tube-top shape. Ballerina touches include Tulle frills on the shoulders and at the legs of the matching mini brief, as well as a highwaist cut and retro-style openings on the side, finished with an adjustable bow.

The collection will be available in stores from January 2013.
