Halle Berry is behind the global relaunch of 80-year old French lingerie label Scandale.
The Oscar-winning actress, who now owns 50% of the company, has plans to reintroduce the luxury brand in the US, before reviving the brand globally in 2015.
Her first 10-piece collection, with prices ranging from $7 to $18, will hit selected Target stores on October 27, reports Womenswear Daily.
“We’ve taken this brand and revamped it,” she said in an interview Thursday. “But we’ve kept all the qualities of the Parisian sort of style intact.”
Berry discovered Scandale, founded by textiles designer Robert Perrier in 1932, while shopping in Paris, and researched its history before deciding to relaunch the label.
“I was drawn to Scandale because of its French heritage and gorgeous lingerie. The products are designed to support a woman’s desire to look beautiful as well as her essential need to feel confident and comfortable in her body,” she said.
