Gossard has named the winners of its lingerie design competition, carried out in collaboration with De Montfort University.
Four Contour Fashion students will have their designs featured on the Gossard website after impressing general manager Elise Recour with their work.
The competition was centred around “glamourzonian”, a word Recour used to describe the 2015 DMU Contour Fashion catwalk show, which was held at Covent Garden’s Freemasons’ Hall on June 3.
She said the collections shown on the runway had brought “the strength of women and the empowered woman back on the catwalk” as it was a “mixture of the fragile, the feminine and the strong”.
Recour picked four finalists from the collections modelled for her team, and was unable to choose an overall winner due to the high standard.
Two students, Indiana Maslin and Becky Harkins, were awarded the Gossard Glamourzonian Prize, while Eliza McCann and Betsan Evans, won the Gossard Commercial Prize.
Recour, whose Gossard brand is a partner with the DMU course, said: “I think the work was outstanding – really creative. Overall what was really interesting was way the students put their personality into their finished pieces which meant all of the work explored feminine aspects in very different ways and made picking a winner difficult.
“The winners will all be featured on the Gossard website so that the new talent can stand out and help students take the next step in the industry. We want to be a part of the next generation of talent and support them in the best way we can, so it is a win-win for us and DMU to have a competition like this.”
