Gossard eyes Eastern Europe expansion off the back off Salon International

British lingerie brand Gossard is eyeing Eastern European expansion after showing at Salon International de la Lingerie.

The brand, which is currently stocked in Debenhams, on ASOS and Topshop Online in the UK, exhibited its AW18 lingerie collection at the Paris show over the weekend as a means of building business in Eastern Europe territories.

Elise Recour, products and marketing manager of Gossard, told Lingerie Insight: “Eastern Europe for us is an important part we want to develop because we do very well in Poland and we do very well in Russia. We’re trying to do better in Belgium, in France, Spain and Italy – these are countries where we would also like to have a stronger presence.

“For us [the show] is a mix of strengthening relationships with our distributors to create a consistent message and it’s an opportunity to discuss and understand what the industry’s demands are.”

Over the course of the three-day event Salon International, which opened on Saturday, approximately 480 brands exhibited across six sectors – lingerie and corsetry; sleepwear and loungewear; designer luxury labels; hosiery; emerging brands; and men’s underwear.
