Goldenballs Beckham gets silver makeover for H & M

David Beckham has been immortalised in silver as part of a new underwear campaign for high street retailer H & M.

Huge statues of the football player, wearing only a pair of briefs, were erected in locations around New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

The unveiling coincided with the release of a series of new black and white images, showcasing Beckham’s collection of ‘underwear classics’.

The powerful pics were shot in Los Angeles by photographer Alasdair McLellan, with Beckham photographed against a black background to show him and the bodywear in stark relief.

Beckham said: “I am so excited about this new campaign for David Beckham Bodywear at H&M. I wanted to express the strength and quality of the David Beckham Bodywear collection with these images, and also wearability and fit. I love the range and feel so comfortable in each of the pieces. As soon as the collection was launched, it became second nature for me to wear it.”

David Beckham Bodywear is an exclusive, long-term collaboration with H&M, which has reportedly become a huge global success following its launch in February 2012.

The collection, which remains permanently in-store and online, encompasses a core range of briefs, trunks, undershirts, T-shirts, Henleys and long johns.

This November, a series of new pieces will be introduced to the line.

The David Beckham Bodywear collection is currently available at around 1,800 H&M stores in 44 countries worldwide, as well as online.
