How did they get so rich? Lovehoney founders tell all on C4 TV show

The founders of Lovehoney showed off their wealth on Channel 4’s new TV series ‘How’d You Get So Rich’ last night.

Richard Longhurst and Neal Slateford took presenter Katherine Ryan on a tour of their Bath-based warehouse and shared the inspirational story of how they made their millions.

The creators of the sexy toy and lingerie business explained that they built their brand with an initial investment of £9,000 – £4,500 each.

The business started as a two-man project, operated out of Longhurst’s bedroom, and in the first year they sold 1,000 products per month, generating £37,000 in revenue.

Fifteen years after launching the business, Longhurst and Slateford now manage a 130-strong work force and enjoy the luxuries of a £58 million turnover.

Comedian Katherine Ryan’s new series on the super wealthy takes her around the UK and abroad as she tries learn the answer to the burning question “How’d You Get so Rich”?

The episode which featured Longhurst and Slateford aired on Channel 4 at 10pm last night.

But they aren’t the only business moguls to appear on the show. Previous episodes have featured Britain’s wealthiest plumber Charlie Mullins and Poundland founders Steven and Tracy Smith.
