A UK tour of the award-winning musical ‘Cabaret’, starring Will Young and Louise Redknapp, has seen lingerie brand Raine & Bea return to its roots.

As previously reported by Lingerie Insight, owner and designer Jenna Barnes created 14 glittering garments for the show, including bras, silk tap pants, silk camisoles, sequin playsuits, faux fur and fluid satin coats.

Young’s corset, which the singer-turned actor wears for the majority of the show, consists of 43 pieces of steel boning for his role as Emcee.

“It was back in 2012 whilst making a collection for Cabaret that I became inspired to move into the world of lingerie,” said Barnes.

“I’ve always loved theatres and the backstage world of dressing rooms and wardrobe departments that contrasts with the glamour of the production on stage, working on Cabaret brought all of this together with my love of lingerie and Raine & Bea was born. I was so delighted to be asked back again.”

The return of Cabaret in 2017 sees Will Young return in his role as the iconic Emcee and Sally Bowles played by Louise Redknapp. The tour includes dates in Malvern, Cardiff, Leeds, Milton Keynes, Salford, Edinburgh, Bromley and Brighton.

Cabaret is currently showing at the New Wimbledon Theatre in London and will tour the UK from October 31. Earlier this year, Barnes designed a lingerie set for the character ‘Sloane’ in the musical Bat Out of Hell.
