Former Victoria’s Secret CEO joins global retail consultancy

Sharen Jester Turney, the former CEO of Victoria’s Secret, has joined DK Retail Consulting as a special adviser.

Lisbon-based DK Retail said Turney is an “extraordinarily accomplished” global business leader who is ideally compatible with the mission of the company.

DK Retail, in collaboration with Japonica Partners, has a mandate to identify investments in the retail sector, including the fashion and luxury sectors.

Investments can range from minority to control positions in start-ups to multi-national corporations.

Commenting on the new role, Turney said: “I greatly look forward to working with DK Retail Consulting as the retail space is in a state of disruptive change with hopefully undiscovered opportunities.”

Turney resigned suddenly from Victoria’s Secret in February last year after 16 years at the company.

She joined the retailer as CEO of Victoria’s Secret Direct in 2000, before assuming responsibility for the brand as CEO in 2006.
