Swedish swimwear designer Panos Emporio will unveil an intelligent range of men’s swim shorts at the Mode City trade show this weekend.

The new multi-way Meander shorts are inspired by the way football stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimović roll up their shorts on the beach to achieve a perfect tan.

They feature hidden zips that open at the sides, allowing the fabric to roll up, and buttons that fasten the fabric in place, creating a shorter brief.

By opening up the zips, consumers can wear the shorts for beach- and water sports.

Panos Papadopoulos, the designer behind the concept, has challenged and developed fashion trends for the last 30 years, having owned the rights for the Miss Sweden contest and collaborated with models, singers and actresses, including ex-Bay Watch stars Traci Bingham, José Solano, Helena Paparizo and Victoria Silvstedt.

Panos Emporio will showcase its full line of male and female beachwear at Mode City from July 9 to 11.

The products are available in select European countries and in duty free shops around the world.
