This year’s 31st annual Swimwear Association of Florida’s SwimShow will expand its men’s swimwear offerings after a 20 percent growth in the category last year alone.
The 2013 edition of the global trade show will include over 8,500 attendees and 2,500 brands from 60 countries. Men’s swimwear has been featured in the show for years, but due to recent increases in demand, it will now be featured more prominently. SwimShow is a top event for buyers from all swimwear categories and includes manufacturers, designers, corporate personnel, press, bloggers, fashion consultants, stylists and other fashion industry leaders. The show also caters to a variety of retail outlets, including designer boutiques, department stores, surf shops and mass merchants.
Judy Stein, Executive Director of the Swimwear Association of Florida said “men’s swimwear took the leading spotlight last year with its incredible 20 percent boost in sales, which encouraged more manufacturers to show larger selections this year." Stein also added that men’s swimwear now offers "greater quality, variety, creativity and style than ever," due in part to its increasing popularity.
Men’s swimwear lines featured this year will include Parke & Ronen, Orlebar Brown, 2 (x)ist, Retromarine, Onia, Whittall and Shon, Andrew Christian, Win Win, Crasqi, Bayahibe, Venroy, Venissac, Frescobol Carioca, and Strongboalt, amongst others.
The 2013 SwimShow will also features a catwalk show dedicated to the upcoming cruise and resort season, after party cocktails, trend and color seminars and evening happy hours.The size of SwimShow is also expanding, and will consume nearly 400,000 square feet to meet the needs of the many new swimwear brands wanting to enter the market.
