Flash sales site MySale acquires Cocosa

The MySale Group has acquired luxury brands flash sales site Cocosa.com as part of its expansion plans into the UK.

The Australian company said the acquisition demonstrates its commitment to establishing a presence in the UK and becoming a global flash sales operator.

The Al Fayed Group revealed plans to close Cocosa in October last year as part of its strategy to simplify its portfolio in 2010 and Fulham Football Club in July 2013.

The acquisition of Cocosa gives MySale access to more than 800,000 customers as well as an additional strong branded identity in the flash sales space. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Earlier this month, MySale, which operates the OzSale flash sales website, said that it plans to move its global headquarters to the UK to accelerate the expansion of its supply chain and distribution.

Currently it is present in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and The Philippines and it plans to open in the US, UK, Korea and Hong Kong.

Founder Jamie Jackson said: “As a group, we have reached a number of milestones in the past 12 months which have taken our business to another level and this is the next stage in that journey. The acquisition of Cocosa.com gives us a fabulous foundation to build on as we finalise our plans for our UK launch.”
