Three Graces London is a new lingerie and nightwear brand directed by Finnish fashion designer Teija Eilola. Together with founder Catherine Johnson, she has created an elegant collection of silk-satin robes, pyjamas and camisoles. Here, Johnson tells us more about the label.
Lingerie Insight: How does Three Graces differ to other intimate apparel brands in the UK?
Catherine Johnson: We have created a brand that focuses entirely on the wearer; strong, independent women who buy nightwear for themselves and for the pleasure they derive from wearing it.
LI: Where do you manufacture?
CJ: We support fashion manufacturing in Europe, Three Graces London sources fabrics from the finest producers and ateliers from across the continent.
LI: How would you describe your first collection?
CJ: AW15, our first collection, was inspired by the Liz Taylor era of Hollywood glamour. These were iconic women who would dress backstage like they would dress on stage. They had the style to be genuinely gorgeous at home as well as at work. The collection brings together that nonchalant elegance and creates new romantic nightwear to wear day and night.
LI: What are your price points?
CJ: Prices range from £290 for a slip to £450 for a pyjama set.
LI: What are the next steps for your brand?
CJ: This summer will see the launch our online shop and, in SS16, we are extending the range to include lingerie and a fine Swiss cotton line of nightwear. Our current silk range will be designed with prints sourced from archives dating from 1800s.
