Fabrics firm targets lingerie brands with new cellulosic yarn

A specialist fabrics manufacturer is targeting lingerie brands with its new sustainably sourced cellulosic yarn.

Eastman hopes the launch of Naia will be popular with lingerie brands and manufacturers due to both the increasing demand for sustainably sourced materials and the fabric’s qualities.

It claims that the yarn is comfortable, easy to care for and luxurious. It aims to offer a differentiated product for brands looking to innovate in their collections.

Naia is designed to be silky, have a rich colour and can be used alone or in blends with other fibres to create fabrics suitable for a variety of apparel.

Eastman says the fabric delivers next-to-skin comfort due to its softness, high breathability and efficient moisture management.

The launch of this material comes as big name lingerie brands like Victoria’s Secret are turning to sustainable fabrics in response to consumer demand.
