Nottingham-based hosiery supplier Legwear International has launched its own innovative range of tights for the premium market.

The company said the Couture Ultimates collection offers a range of ladder-proof, seamless tights manufactured using a knitting technique like no other.

Unlike traditional tights currently on the market, which are knitted using two tubes that are sewn together, forming a seam in the middle, the Couture range is knitted using vertical lines of knots in one piece.

Allan Falconer, managing director of Legwear International and Couture Ultimates said: “A seamless ladder proof conventional hosiery product has never been done before – this is extremely exciting for the hosiery industry. This development has enormous technical capabilities for hosiery, and also for the dance wear industries.

“The technical challenges creating this product range have been demanding with our team working for months to achieve the required technical knitting processes to create our Ultimates collection. We are now proud to launch our results worldwide.”

The Couture Ultimates collection features two sets of opaque tights and seven sets of patterned tights in 60 and 100 deniers. Sheer products are currently in development.

UK Tights is the official online retail partner for Couture Ultimates in the UK.

Dawn Barber, managing director of UK Tights spoke highly of the new collection.

“The Couture Ultimates collection from our friends at Legwear International is not just one of the best collections in the world of hosiery, these tights ARE the best in the world, without question,” she said.

“They are completely seamless, making their fit ideal and their shaping profile the most flattering in the world. Couture Ultimates Tights have a shaping support and leg structure that makes them comfortable, supportive and helps to make the most of your figure. And of course, the attribute that has stunned us all, they are completely ladder proof. And when we say ladder proof, we mean proof, not just ladder resist.”
