Independent lingerie brand Tutti Rouge has maintained its cost prices this season despite current economic uncertainty.
Lingerie Insight reported in January that independent lingerie retailers in the UK are facing an uncertain future following a wave of price hikes from suppliers in the wake of the falling pound.
Several shop owners voiced their concerns over the impact of increased costs on their margins or sales.
But Tutti Rouge is determined to absorb the price increases put in place by its fabric suppliers internally.
“We’ve worked incredibly hard to keep our price points the same. Yes, we have been affected by price increases, but actually we don’t think that should necessarily be passed on to our customers – it should be something we deal with ourselves,” said founder and creative director Jessica Prebble.
“We’ve been able to do that by being clever with design, working with our supply chain right through to our fabric manufacturers and sharpening the pencil on pricing and costs.”
