Ex-Marks & Spencer retail executive joins John Lewis

John Lewis has announced the appointment of Laura Wade-Gery, a former senior retail director at rival British retailer Marks & Spencer, as a non-executive director of the Board.

Wade-Gery was an executive director for multi-channel retail at M&S until her departure in September 2016. She was also the CEO of Tesco.com between 2003 and 2011.

She is currently a non executive Director of the Board of British Land and a member of the Government’s Digital Advisory Board.

Commenting on her appointment, Sir Charlie Mayfield, chairman of the John Lewis Partnership, said: “I am pleased to announce the appointment of Laura Wade-Gery who brings a wealth of experience in business and retailing. She will build on the strength and depth of the John Lewis Partnership Board.”
