Italian fabric maker Eurojersey has announced a partnership with WWF Italia, reaffirming its long-term commitment to sustainable manufacturing.
The three-year partnership is dedicated to safeguarding the Mediterranean Sea and aims to actively contribute to protecting the natural habitat of its precious species through special initiatives and campaigns.
Eurojersey hopes to promote itself as a brand that respects the land, sea and their common resources.
Each year, the company reuses 30 million litres of hot water when producing its patented Sensitive Fabrics, saving 200 TOE (tonnes of oil equivalent).
“The partnership with WWF Italia aims to protect the Mediterranean with its 2.51 million km² of water between Europe, Africa and Asia, covering 46,000 km of coastline and reaching a depth of 1500 metres,” the company said.
“Only 1% of our sea is properly protected with targeted activities and concrete initiatives aimed at limiting the pollution of the sea, excessive fishing, and the degradation caused by tourism.”
Eurojersey’s goal is to actively contribute to protecting, in particular, loggerhead sea turtles, supporting the WWF’s activities in order to reduce the mortality rate of these animals.
