EBI Apparel goes bust

Leeds-based EBI Apparel, which manufactures lingerie and underwear for clients including high street retailer Monsoon, went into administration this month, as reported by Insider Media.

Joint administrators A Poxton and JM Titley, of Leonard Curtis Recovery, have been appointed for the company, which also owns a private label service and the Ballet lingerie brand.

The news comes just months after the launch of EBI Apparel’s new vintage lingerie and swimwear brand, Letters From Evie, for which it reported a ‘great sell-in’ of the first collection (SS11).

At the time, Ballet and Letters From Evie commercial director Jo Stockdale said: “We are really pleased with the reaction to Letters From Evie. We have had so much fun designing it and I think that really comes across in the end result.”

The business employs over 65 staff and has partner factories worldwide.

EBI Apparel was unavailable for comment.
