Department stores maintain multi-channel power

Fashion retailers lost ground to supermarkets in the IMRG comScore Top 100 Retailer Rankings that measured unique visitors to UK online retail sites in December 2015.

Amazon, Argos, Tesco and Apple retained their top four positions compared to 2014, but Asda was up four places, Sainsbury’s rose 10 places and Waitrose was up six places.

Lingerie brands are increasingly battling to be stocked in the top multi-channel retailers, which are all well-represented in the top 100.

The ranking is similar to the findings of Lingerie Insight’s 2015 Reach List, which measured retailers’ strength across the web and social media. Among the department stores, Marks & Spencer was top, John Lewis second, Debenhams third, House of Fraser fourth and Selfridges fifth.
