The annual graduate fashion show hosted by De Montfort University’s Contour Fashion course will take place in London today.
Twenty final year students chosen by an industry panel will present their collections at the Freemasons’ Hall in Covent Garden.
Course leader Gillian Proctor was joined by six judges in Leicester last month in selecting the collections that will be shown on the runway and in an accompanying exhibition.
The panel included Lingerie Insight editor Sarah Blackman, Courtaulds creative director Mandy Ferrand, Triumph International product manager Monica Harrington, APM Agency director and founder of The Lingerie Edit David Finlayson, and freelance consultant Chris Spellar.
Thirty-two final-year students presented their work on live models, before the most innovative and creative designs were selected for the show.
Collections include a sportswear range designed for male and female athletes, a mastectomy nightwear range and a lingerie collection made almost entirely out of velvet.
Two catwalk shows will take place during today’s event – one in the afternoon and one in the evening – followed by a VIP drinks reception.
