Larger-cup label Curvy Kate has announced the winner of its 8th annual Star in a Bra competition.
Selected by a record online vote of over 9,000, Seana Sweeney, a receptionist from Dublin, beat 2,000 curvy entrants to the top spot.
The FF cup winner will now receive a year-long modelling contract with Curve agency, Bridge Models, a year’s supply of Curvy Kate lingerie and star alongside the brand’s line-up of customer role models in all of its marketing campaigns.
Speaking of her win, the 31 year-old said: “I can’t believe I’ve won, I’m totally shocked. I’m so grateful to all of the people that took the time to read my story and vote for me, I had some really tough competition on my hands with the other finalists – each one as beautiful and inspiring as the next. I’m so excited for what is ahead of me as a result of this competition.”
Since launching eight years ago, the Star in a Bra competition has grown significantly, with almost 2,000 entries in 2016, almost double the entries of 2015’s competition. Votes were also up, with 9,238 votes cast on the competition’s website, which received 100,000 visits.
Curvy Kate promoted the competition across its social channels, which now have a following of almost 200K. The campaign hashtags #SIABLive and #StarinaBra meant that the competition reached over 11 Million people worldwide.
Curvy Kate head of marketing Hannah Isichei said: ““We’re really thrilled to have Seana on board as she’s a great role model. We always strive to use our customers as models so everyone has someone they can relate to. Seana is in her early 30s and she’s a mother which means we have another demographic represented in our diverse line-up.”
