The intimate apparel industry raised £52,000 for the Retail Trust and Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust last night at the annual Contour Fashion Ball.
Lingerie luminaries mixed with celebrities and media at the Savoy hotel for a night of fund raising hosted by television style guru Mark Heyes.
The auction raised a massive £10,000 with 5 nights in The Four Seasons Resort, Mauritius the star lot of the event.
Sharon Webb, chairwoman of the Contour committee and head of buying and design at Debenhams, said: “It’s so exciting to be part of a sell-out event where the industry come together to not only enjoy themselves, but to really support our charities. When I took on this role, I set a target of raising £50,000. A big thank you to all who contributed and helped us raise the highest amount on record for this event.”
Nigel J L Rothband, Retail Trust chief executive thanked all of the organisers and guests for their help and generosity. “We are overwhelmed with the support from everyone involved in the Contour Ball, especially the hard working committee. The £52,000 raised is a fantastic sum enabling Retail Trust and FTCT to provide crucial services to people in retail.”
