Japanese company Yamamoto Corporation has developed a line of swimwear allowing people to safely enter waters near the Fukushima nuclear power plant.
Made from rubberised kneaded carbon, the swimwear pieces block beta rays and prevent exposure to toxic materials found in the water. A bodysuit made from the material weighs roughly 3 kilograms and features a seamless design to prevent leakage.
The bodysuit will retail for approximately £662, while a smaller, underwear-like version will cost a little more than £510. Both items will be available in November.
