Chief Harrods merchant to leave for Saks 5th Ave

Marigay McKee, chief merchant of luxury department store Harrods, will leave her post to join Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City.

Though McKee has declined to comment on the move, it’s believed she could leave Harrods as soon as November 1st, marking an end to her 15 years with the company.

At Saks Fifth Avenue, which was recently purchased by the Canada’s Hudson’s Bay Company, McKee will serve as president.

In 1999, McKee started her Harrods career as a beauty buyer, and ascended to the role of general merchandising manager of beauty the next year.

She took over all responsibilities for fashion and beauty in 2007 and was named chief merchant in 2011.

At Saks Fifth Avenue, McKee will replace Ron Frasch.
